When buying things online from America priced in dollars how will this work through my UK bank account?

Will I just be charged the equivalent in pounds?

Your bank will convert the US Dollar to the European EURO at the current exchange rate.
Reply:On your bank statement they will convert the US dollar amount into Sterling 拢 at that days exchange rate.

I find I'm not usually charged any fees for this.

You can find out approximately what the price in pounds in with an online exchange rate calculator. Be aware, this wont be exact as the rate changes a number of times during the day and the banks all have different rates. But it will be close enough.

Buying from overseas is usually not a problem, I find the US$ means I get good value for my money.
Reply:You will probably be charged the rate of dollars on the day you bought, plus the commision charge (usually about 2% but your bank will show this in their charge sheet). Still cheap though thanks to the weak dollar.
Reply:yeah, depends on the exchange rate, the moment the transaction is processed.
