What are the results of creating a new account on PC and setting it as administrative?

I was having huge problems (registry, viruses etc) with my computer.

Eventually, after I felt like I had tried everything, I created a new account, set it as administrative and logged in.

It seems like everything is back to day 1.

But will the problems keep occuring or is this like installing Windows all over again?

It seems the problems with your computer were confined to the a single user, and not the global system. Since you have control over your computer, download and install CCleaner and Spybot Search %26amp; Destroy (You can get both from download.com). The problems can come back since it's still on your system.
Reply:This isn't like installing windows all over again. If you have a virus on your machine it is still there. I would download AVG and get rid of the virus

I would also download spybot search and destroy and adaware to get rid of the rest of the junk:

Once all that crud is gone you should be able to use your old account. although if you have registry problems you really might be better off to reinstall windows. I would still use the 3 programs above at least once a week to maintain your computer after the reinstall and to avoid this from happening again.

Good Luck and Happy New Year.
Reply:In order to prevent all the other problems occuring again in the foreseeable future, I'd suggest you to;

- reformat your hard drive;

- re-install Windows;

- run a full virus scan.

before you do anything else. Ok?

Best of luck to you.
Reply:If you create a new account, nothing changes in the old one, so the same problems are still present but you're sweeping them under the carpet. You will continue to have problems as long as they are present on your PC.

I hope this helps,

Pat.
