Is there anyway to unlock a default user account on a laptop with win/xp home after forgetting a password?

Recently, I gave my daughter a laptop with windows xp home edition and she setup a user account and lost the password to unlock it. Is there a way to bypass that and login to the pc?
Is there anyway to unlock a default user account on a laptop with win/xp home after forgetting a password?
1. Restart computer and wait for the password screen to appear.

2. Press the Ctrl, Alt, Delete keys twice...a new log in screen will appear.

3. Erase the user name(top box) and Type Administrator in it's place.

4. Erase the password(lower box) and leave that box blank. Press Enter or OK.

5. A welcome screen should soon appear and you will automatically be logged into a new user account with administrative privileges.

6. Click START, CONTROL PANEL, USER ACCOUNTS, USER ACCOUNTS again.

7. The next page will show all user accounts on that computer including the new one you just created.

8. Click on the account you wish to change/remove password and press ENTER.

9. Follow any remaining instructions...that's it!
Reply:Login as the Administrator, open control panel, open User accounts, select the account she lost the password for and Change Password...
Reply:Keep your finger pressed on F8 before windows loads. Choose safe mode. Depending on the brand of the laptop and the seller, the administrator password might be blank. If it is not, try asking the seller for it.

Then log in as Administrator and reset the password.
