My tax rebate should have posted to my account on May 9th. I know I'm eligible; what should I do?

I know I've got the direct deposit set up. I successfully received my refund this way. I only have one direct deposit, not split accounts. Every one I know has received their payment, but I have not. I didn't receive the second letter either.

if you had fees deducted from refund you'll receive a check instead, check your bank statement and if it does not say your refund came from the u.s. treasury you can expect a check.
Reply:A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are. For example, if you had a tax prep place do your return and had your fees taken out of your refund, you aren鈥檛 eligible for direct deposit.

Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says "US Treasury" you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn鈥檛 split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you鈥檒l get a paper check
Reply:I'm in the same situation as you, was to receive rebate on May 9th. Called up, found out that if you had tax preparation fees taken out of your refund check, if you filed your taxes on-line using software (Turbo tax, HR Block) you will not get the rebate via direct deposit. You will receive it via paper check, and that follows the second schedule on the Irs web site.
Reply:I am in the same boat, my last SSN is 19. I actually just got off the phone with the IRS. They are saying that b/c I had my tax guy take his fee from my tax refund, that it caused me to have a split account. Visit www.irs.gov, and it has a section for FAQ, its very helpful. If not, call 800-829-0582. Its too a live rep, and they can tell you exactly whats going on with your situation.

Good Luck,

Reply:Yeah, I did my taxes with taxact.com and had my fees taken out of my direct deposit. I was supposed to get mine direct deposited in my account on the 3rd, but then it didn't! I was super pissed, then I found out that I had to wait for the paper check.

I just got my check on Monday. You'll probably get yours mailed to you.
Reply:Just wait. In the meantime verify your eligibility with the rebate calculator tool that IRS provides.
